Fiat is looking to further develop its Panda range, with the company set to bring out a hot, or rather a warm, version of the city car, a successor to the previous generation’s Panda 100 HP model.
A company spokesman confirmed for autocar that the vehicle will be fitted with an upcoming 105 bhp version of the company’s TwinAir powerplant, which means that the vehicle will come with a high level of efficiency.
Fiat has played down rumors of a Panda Abarth, as the company doesn’t want this to cannibalize the 500 Abarth. We can’t help but notice how the Italians are overeating - they could release a mainstream Panda with around 120 hp if they really wanted to give the market a warm version - this would clearly not cannibalize the 500 Abarth, as it would not only be 20 hp short on power, but also not gifted with the same visual goodies.
In addition to that, Fiat will introduce a pair of 4x4 Pandas: a Climbing version coming with a rugged look and a beefier ride height, as well as a Trekking version, which will also be offered with two-wheel drive, but will come with the aforementioned goodies.
