Were it not for the ‘Ford’ and ‘EcoBoost’ logos peppered all over the car, you would think that Aston Martin has entered NASCAR racing. Sadly, it’s just a Ford, the new Fusion that will compete in the Sprint Cup.
Ford says keeping the grille or the production car was a priority for them, and considering how many Fusions they sold last year in America, it’s not as surprise. But what we think is the best thing about the racer is that it might get people to notice how good the Fusion might look as a coupe.
”We wanted Fusion to be the car that helped return ‘stock car’ to NASCAR.” stated Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. “I think fans, when they see the car, are just going to smile and cheer. It is going to reengage them with the sport and make the sport better because there is just something natural about seeing race cars that look like cars in their driveways.”
