Eve is not just another ambitious AAM (Advanced Air Mobility) startup. It's the AAM company of one of the most reputable aircraft makers in the world, the Brazilian Embraer. Plus, the Eve electric air taxi is one of the eVTOLs selected by United Airlines for commercial service, which is why it's good to know that top-tier suppliers will support this product.
Even the most exciting eVTOL concept would mean nothing without the support of industry partners. Eve is working hard to secure partnerships with heavy hitters, with Honeywell being recently added to the list. Honeywell will equip Eve's eVTOL with state-of-the-art lighting, navigation, and sensors.

Other names on the list are RECARO Aircraft Seating, which will design and make the air taxi's pilot seat and four passenger seats, and FACC, which will develop and produce the horizontal and vertical tail, including the rudder, elevator, and the aircraft's aileron.

Thales is another big name confirmed among the suppliers. Thales will provide Eve with a complex air data solution. This technology uses sensors and a computer to collect key data such as altitude, airspeed, and environmental conditions, which are then transmitted to all onboard systems and to the pilot. It's both a safety measure and one that increases efficiency, especially in challenging weather conditions.

Eve's collaboration with Thales started back in 2022 when the two launched a series of joint studies on the technical and economic feasibility of electric aircraft. The program began in early 2022 and lasted for 12 months, during which Eve's team worked with the Thales Technological Space Centre in Sao José dos Campos, as well as its avionics center in Sao Bernardo do Campo.

In 2023, the AAM company announced further collaborations with BAE Systems and DUC Hélices Propellers at the Paris Air Show. A few months later, Nidec Aerospace LLC, a joint venture between Japan's Nidec Corporation and Brazil's Embraer, also joined the club, together with Garmin, Liebherr Aerospace, and Intergalactic.

The Eve air taxi was introduced as a five-seat eVTOL with eight propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise flight. It promises a moderate range of 60 miles (100 km), enough for regular commutes in urban centers. In addition to zero-emission, speedy flights, it also claims to operate with a much lower noise footprint than standard helicopters.

United pre-ordered 200 units of the Eve aircraft, with the possibility of adding 200 more. By the end of last year, Eve had secured pre-ordered for more than 2,700 aircraft.

This coveted air taxi will be manufactured in the city of Taubaté (Sao Paolo, Brazil). That is where Eve will officially inaugurate its first production facility. The first full-scale prototype of its flagship aircraft is also gearing up for test flights this year, and it's expected to enter commercial service by 2026.
