We are about a quarter of an hour away from seeing the wraps pulled off from Honda's RC213V-S new bike. The event will be streamed online so anyone with a working internet connection will be able to see the bike unveiled.
The RC213V-S will be introduced at Barcelona, and it looks like the stream will also include live footage with MotoGP Legend Casey Stoner riding the machine around the Barcelona MotoGP circuit. Most likely, Repsol Honda's two-time World Champion Marc Marquez and his teammate Dani Pedrosa will also attend the event.

After all, the RC213V-S is very much like the machines they ride in the premier class every other weekend or even more often, save some differences.

The V4 engine is said to deliver 210 horsepower

As we said on multiple other occasions, the Honda RC213V-S is as close as a "civilian" can get to the MotoGP prototype bikes. This new machine is technically pretty similar to the bike of Marquez and Pedrosa, but lacks the pneumatic valves. This means that the engine will not rev just as high, and will, therefore, produce less power than the premier class version.

The seamless gearbox is also missing, as it is a highly complex component that needs precise servicing and which also raises the price of the machine. On the street-legal side, the RC213V-S also gets a headlight, turn signals and a license plate holder.

If the price remains as rumored (around 20 million Japanese yen), this means that getting an RC213V-S is a treat reserved only for the very wealthy. Twenty million Japanese yen translated to some €143,000 or $162,000. Pretty damn expensive, surely, but don't forget that you'd be throwing a leg over a proper MotoGP bike.
