Honda Previews 2014 WTCC Civic Hatch

When the new Honda Civic was introduced back in 2012, we all agreed its design is mostly on the love or hate it side of the modern automotive industry. We tested the hatchback the same year and... well, we weren’t impressed.
But we’re willing to forget all about that now, when Honda revealed the Civic-based race car they will be campaigning in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) next year. Because it’s a stunner! Sure, it has no road-going relevance, but that won’t stop us from drooling over it.

Previewed via a rendering that shows “the subtle style of the wheel arch extensions, larger diameter wheels, sleeker aero package and extended rear rear spoiler”, the new 2014 WTCC Civic will be run by three teams - JAS Motorsport , Zengo Motorsport and Proteam Racing.

Earlier this week, the Japanese company also unveiled the Civic Tourer race car for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), which is equally beautiful. Some would say it’s even more attractive...
