Honda Yuasa Racing has unveiled the Civic Tourer they will be campaigning in the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Set to be the only estate on the 2014 BTCC grid, the 2014 Civic Tourer BTCC will be driven by Matt Neal and Gordon “Flash” Shedden.
Testing of the new vehicle will commence in January next year, while its track debut will take place on March 29-30, when the first round of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship is scheduled at Brands Hatch.

“Racing with the Civic Tourer means no compromise over the Civic hatchback. The weight, wheelbase, layout and suspension remain the same, but naturally, the length of the car is extended due to the larger tailgate. After two competitive seasons in the BTCC with the hatchback, it will be an interesting challenge to ensure the Tourer keeps Matt, Flash and the team at the head of the championships throughout next season. We’ve worked hard over the past few months to develop the first car which will be completed as we head towards the new year, with the first run scheduled for early January,” said Honda Yuasa Racing team manager Peter Crolla.

As a reminder, the road-going Honda Civic Tourer, which is designed and developed in Europe, will be arriving in British dealerships in February 2014, with prices starting from £20,265 OTR.
