Honda P-NUT Coupe Concept Prepared for LA Auto Show

More and more companies are directing their efforts towards less-polluting and more fuel efficient models and every major auto even is an occasion to reveal their latest contraptions in this sector. The upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show will witness the unveiling of a futuristic design study created by Honda that is specially developed to demonstrate the potential of an ultra-compact and city-focused vehicle.

Obviously, details are still kept secret but we do know that the concept will come in coupe concept. Nicknamed Honda Personal-Neo Urban Transport (P-NUT), the concept was developed by the Advantaged Design Studio of Honda R&D Americas.

Other major releases prepared for the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, which by the way opens its doors in December, include the US-bound Mazda2, Ford Fiesta, 2011 Toyota Sienna and 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The latter will be powered, in the US, by a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, specifically optimized for reduced fuel consumption but without neglecting power output.

“With expected highway fuel economy up to 40 miles per gallon, Cruze will be extremely gas friendly while the Volt electric vehicle can be operated gas-free," Brent Dewar, Chevrolet vice president said in a release.

“Chevrolet's focus is on forward-looking technologies to the benefit of our customers, such as the highly efficient, small-displacement turbocharged engine in the Cruze or the Volt electric vehicle with extended range.”

The Los Angeles Auto Show will run from December 4 through December 13, 2009 with two days dedicated to the press on December 2 and 3.
