When Honda first revealed its plans for a dedicated sportscar, we admit we were a little skeptical. Here was a car that at a glance was going to be powered by a normal Accord V6 engine and developed in America, not at the Nurburgring or Fuji. That being said, they've managed to convince us this is the best thing to hit the auto industry since inflatable tires.
Since there's still about a year before production actually starts, we thought we'd focus our attention on the "adventures" of the prototype. Honda probably believes the NSX is finally ready to strut its stuff and is sending it all the way to Britain to the famous Goodwood Festval of Speed.
The show is still three month away, plenty of time for the NSX to be brought to hill climb spec. Confident in its car, Honda describes Goodwood as the "perfect event to demonstrate its flagship supercar for the first time in Europe". The pre-production prototype will not be making its journey alone, but accompanied by a 1989 NSX - once driven by Ayrton Senna - and a 2005 NSX.
As cool as the old-timers are, we're only excited about the new model, which is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine and an intricate Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system with three electric motors. This thing could be faster than an Audi R8!
