Honda CR-Z MUGEN Won’t Become Production Reality

Here’s one that isn’t really a shocker: Honda’s sensible eco hatch, the CR-Z won’t see a production form of its hotter MUGEN brother that blends supercharging and hybrid systems.
According to a Top Gear report, the CR-Z Mugen RR hybrid concept won't reach production lines. Before you start booing the decision, you have to take into consideration that this would only have been a 200 hp or so car that would have cost a lot more than regular hot hatches.

The carbon fiber bonnet, passenger doors and tailgate wouldn’t have come for free either, and those 18-inch racing wheels look like they’ve been wrapped in paint not rubber, so it would have been a very hard car to like on a bumpy road.

Honda really needs a proper sportscar in its lineup, something like the S2000 used to be. We hear the new Civic Type R will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter, which would be a good place to look for an engine.
