Hero MotoCorp, one of the biggest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, announces the beginning of their operations in Africa. Hero's first foothold on African soil will be Kenya, where the Indian manufacturer also plans to build a local assembly facility for the new market.
Hero partnered with Sameer Group as the distributor across Kenya, but soon, their bikes will also be present in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.
There is no estimation as of when will the CKD production begin in Kenya, but as we know Hero is on an expansion spree in a lot of new markets inluding Central America, we can figure out it won't be long until we see bikes rolling out the new Kenyan factory.
The first models to enter the African markets are Dawn, Splendor Pro, Glamour, Hunk and the sporty Karizma.
