Stolen Range Rovers in a container
You’ve probably seen the Gone in 60 Seconds car flick telling the story of a car thief struggling to meet a mafioso’s demand. Well, car theft is not that charming in real life and sometimes it goes as far as stuffing more than 3 cars in one container or disassembly and ship them bit by bit.
Speaking of stuffing cars in a container, stolen vehicle recovery provider Tracker helped police at Tilbury Port in the UK to locate a stolen Range Rover thanks to the small beacon device hidden in it. But this came along with a big surprise...

Three more Range Rovers were stuffed in the same shipping container like one big puzzle. One of them was having the front wheels on another’s hood while the front end was up in the ceiling. The other two were probably paired in the same way although we can’t see it in this little photo we got.

“Thanks to our close working relationship with the Police, combined with TRACKER’s unique GSM, VHF and GPS technology, we can help them locate a stolen vehicle, even if it is underground, a garage or in a shipping container,” police liaison manager for Tracker Adrian Davenport explains.

The company reunites owners with their stolen cars for over 20 years now. The recovery system works like an electronic homing device using a hidden transmitter inside a car. It has no visible antenna or light emitting beacon, so nobody knows it’s there.
