Enough time has passed since the turn of the year for motorcycle makers to get their act together and start thinking about the months that lie ahead. Already many of them have begun announcing both the premieres and the returning models for 2024, and more will probably do so in the coming days as well.
The eyes of many of us are turned to Milwaukee, from where news of the 2024 Harley-Davidson bikes is expected on January 24. But we can all use a distraction until then, so for now we'll have to settle for what other companies are doing.

And we'll start the day with the American branch of Honda, which pulled the veils of a big part of its lineup for the new model year. It's likely several other bikes will be confirmed and even unveiled over the following months, but it's safe to say the backbone of Honda's offering will be made from the bikes we'll talk about here.

There are no less than 11 motorcycle models spread throughout six distinct categories that have been confirmed to return for 2024 by Honda in the “first product release” of the year. Because they are returning and not necessarily new, they do not bring to the table a lot of novelties, except, of course, for the minor tweaks and the expansion of the color offerings.

I mentioned there are six distinct bike categories Honda will be targeting this year with the returning models, and perhaps the most important of them all is that of sport bikes. The bike maker's offering here is extensive, and for the 2024 model year it includes the CBR1000RR, the CBR600RR, and the CB1000R. None of them bring any significant changes compared to what came before.

The standard segment is represented by the SCL500, which in 2024 will be offered in three color choices. Four dual sport bikes will be offered, namely the CRF300L, the CRF300L Rally, the XR650L, and the XR150L.

The minimoto segment is represented by the Trail125, while the PCX represents the scooter segment. Trial bikes are represented in the 2024 model year by the Montesa.
