In the spring of this year, muscle car lovers were hit right across the face by the most powerful such vehicle ever produced by an established carmaker. It was in March when Dodge unleashed the Challenger SRT Demon 170, also described as the fastest accelerating production car in the world.
Those are not just marketing words, but are also backed by numbers. The car produces a stunning amount of power, 1,025 hp, and is capable of going from a standstill to 60 mph in just 1.66 seconds.

All of that is possible thanks to the engine Dodge fitted under the hood. Part of the Hellephant family, the 6.2-liter supercharged monster is what makes the muscle car the Demon that it is. And, as of 2024, we will get to see it under the hoods of other vehicles as well.

Although it is not participating in this year's SEMA show, Dodge took advantage of the moment to announce the availability of new crate engines for next year, and among them is, you guessed it, the Hellephant in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.

The carmaker said the powerplant will become available in crate form in the first quarter of next year from Direct Connection, its performance products brand, and it will sell complete with a new 3.0L IHI supercharger with improved intercooler, larger snout and a 3.02-inch pulley for increased boost, a 105 mm throttle body with new housing, blade, shaft, and geartrain.

The asking price for the crate engine is not that far from what you'd pay for an entry-level Challenger: Dodge is asking no less than $27,695 for the Hellephant C170.

This powerplant is not the only novelty offered to those interested in amazing builds in the coming year. A series of other engines will be on the table, including the long block version of the C170, the Hellcrate and Hellcrate Redeye, the HurriCrate Cat 1 and Cat 3, the 345 and, of course, the 392.

Below you can check out the list of all available engines, and their prices. A fair warning, though. Because everything that comes below is presented by Dodge as being new in its crate engine offer, the list might make you feel Christmas has come early this year, but also kind of not-sorry Dodge missed this year's edition of the SEMA show.
