Starting with the launch of the latest S-Class and continuing with the C-Class W205 and the V-Class W447, the boys and girls in Stuttgart have instituted what may be called a revolution of vehicle interior design and quality, something which is expected to arrive in other upcoming Mercedes-Benz models as well.
These are not just meaningless words, since we also had the chance to get down on a more hands-on approach with each of the aforementioned models, but the newly-introduced Mercedes-Benz interiors are also gathering accolades from design experts and fans around the world.
Some of you know that at least the interior of the C-Class W205 was actually designed in Italy, by a team of interior designers which were until now used on creating the center consoles of Mercedes-Benz concept cars mostly, so it's no wonder that its design is so far ahead and classy at the same time.
Gorden Wagener - whom we had the pleasure of interviewing back in 2009, soon after he had became head of design at Mercedes-Benz – was praised today as the interior designer of the year at the 2014 Automotive Interiors Expo, in Stuttgart.
The selection process for the award was made by a jury consisting of a large amount of car journalists from around the world, with the bunch finally voting on Gorden Wagener to take the award home for Mercedes-Benz.
According to the jury, it was the three-pointed star manufacturer which “has made the most significant contribution to improving interior quality, innovation and the environment over the last twelve months”, which should come as no surprise to anyone that climbs in a well-specced Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 or any of the aforementioned models.
