In case further recognition was needed, the new face of Mercedes-Benz design has started to draw in quite a large number of fans all over the world, but just so you don't take our word for it, you should probably learn that the new “Sensual Purity” line of design has made most Germans think that Mercedes-Benz currently makes the most beautiful cars.
More in detail, readers of the Auto Bild German car magazine have voted for the three-pointed star brand in five out of six categories in a contest called the Auto Bild Design Awards, with the Stuttgart car maker managing to secure victory in every category where it was nominated with a vehicle and was also the overall winner of this automotive beauty pageant for the sixth time in a row.
In the mid-range and luxury category, the newly-launched Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 was voted by Auto Bild readers to take first place, while second place went to the S-Class W222.
The gorgeous Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe C217 took the Auto Bild Design Award in the Coupe and Cabriolet Category, while the new GLA X156 compact crossover/SUV won the most beautiful SUV award.
As far as studies and concept cars are concerned, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo had almost no competitors in its category, winning the award with flying colors.
The all-new C-Class W205 not only won in the mid-range and luxury category, but it also emerged as the winner in the overall rankings, followed closely by the S-Class Coupe C217 in second place and the S-Class W222 in third.
As the Auto Bild readers/voters are obviously German, it is no wonder that Mercedes-Benz is also the best sold premium carmaker there and the second best-sold carmaker of any kind in Germany.
In other somewhat related news, the interior design of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 was chosen as one of the ten best of 2014 by American car magazine Ward's Auto World, from a pool of 41 all-new or restyled cars.
“No other vehicle interior worldwide combines aesthetics, technology and safety like the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class.” said Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of “Ward‘s Auto World”. “With the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz is re-writing the script for interior design - not only for its own brand, but maybe for all German luxury cars.” he continued.
