It looks like Harley-Davidson is also on the ascending trend as far as sales in the first quarter of 2014 are concerned, but the traditional markets have kind of slowed down.
The Motor Company announces having sold 57,415 units worldwide, a 5.8 percent increase over the 54,254 bikes it sold in the same period of 2013. The growth in the domestic market is even smaller, 3.0% up from the similar 2013 figures. Harley sold 35,730 motorcycles on US ground during the first three months of 2014, while Q1 2013 saw the MoCo pushing 34,706 machines.

However, the biggest sales increase was recorded in the Asia Pacific region, with the dealers in the area selling 20.5% more motorcycles than in the first quarter of the previous year. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) combined markets were next in line, posting 8.2% better sales. The introduction of the new Street 750 and Street 500 lower-displacement and lower-price models in select markets is by far one of the major growth factors for Harley.

Harley-Davidson retains its leading position in the US, for the 6th year in a row, with a solid lead over the competition. Revenues from motorcycles, motorcycle parts and accessories, as well as the profit margin went steadily up in Q1 2014, while the general merchandise including MotorClothes sales went down by 11%. A growth is expected in Q2 in the segment. Harley also expects that up to 285,000 motorcycles be sold by the end of the year, representing an optimistic 9% increase over 2013.
