When it comes to true passion, nothing is impossible. One Polish man decided 8 years ago that he wanted to own a McLaren F1, the car that truly invented the hypercar segment.
However, not everyone can pay the ludicrous amount of money such a piece of engineering jewelry costs (one was recently sold for GBP5.1 million) so he decided to make his own out of spare parts.
Needless to say that such a project was frowned upon by everyone close to him and all the bloggers in the world, everyone deeming him either crazy or close to such status. He didn’t mind, he even found the whole attention he was getting inspiring and motivational.
That’s how, after a lot of hard work and $32,000 invested in spare parts, he ended up with a quite good-looking McLaren F1 replica that is powered by a true BMW V12 engine, has Mercedes-Benz brakes and can (purportedly) do 320 km/h (200 mph).
His car though, is special, as he built it exactly as he saw fit to. For example, instead of the 3-seater configuration of the original car, his model has a forth, smaller seat, he calls “Hammond-seat” because only the Top Gear presenter (or people of his stature) could fit in it.
