Tiny homes are born to be wild – you'll often find them in rural settings or the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but nature. Easily adaptable for an off-grid lifestyle, these houses on wheels offer the immense benefit of comfortable interiors, often at luxurious standards. The beautiful Kimberley was designed to blend in with the Australian landscape, but it also puts a modern spin on rural living.
Tiny homes like the Kimberley 7200 represent a sustainable and affordable alternative to traditional farmhouses. But what makes them truly special is the versatile, luxurious interior – it's a fresh take on rural living, where owners get to enjoy premium amenities even if they decide to go fully off-grid. This Aussie tiny blends the typical Australian-style design, oriented towards the outdoors, with a contemporary layout, flaunting a loft bedroom, a raised lounge, and a dining corner.

Alphaline Tiny Homes is a brand that truly embodies the Australian spirit. Each design looks fresh and modern, with a clear intention of bringing the outdoors in through an extensive use of glass. At the same time, these mobile homes are made to be sturdy and able to withstand the challenging natural environment in Australia.

This builder uses 90-mm (3.5 inches) steel frames as standard, with several important benefits. First, they're lighter than traditional timber frames, which makes them easier to transport. Although lighter, steel frames are also considered more resilient than timber frames. Plus, they allow the maximum amount of insulation.

Additionally, Alphaline Tiny Homes can engineer the steel wall and ceiling frames to a certified high wind/cyclone rating. This feature is particularly important for those who want to set up their tiny home in a coastal area.

Alphaline is also one of the few builders open to 100% custom designs. Customers can even opt for tailored frames that combine timber and steel for a unique result. Plus, all the Alphaline homes, whether custom-built or not, can be upgraded with a plethora of features, from simple ceiling fans and washer/dryer units to off-grid amenities, including solar panels, a rainwater tank, and a composting toilet.

The Kimberley 7200 is one of the brand's largest models available. It's 7.2 meters long (23.6 feet), 2.4 meters wide (7.8 feet), and 4.3 meters tall (14.1 feet). Its eye-catching exterior combines timber in natural shades with contrasting dark trims. The oversized windows and French doors are easily noticeable from far away. Kimberley looks like it's smiling and inviting the outdoors inside.

Instead of a classic galley-style kitchen and a simple living area, Kimberley reveals an unusual layout where these two mesh. The raised lounge becomes an even better spot for taking in the views compared to standard layouts. The oversized rear window and large side windows offer stunning panoramic views, also filling the lounge with natural light. It's big enough to fit a convertible sofa that can provide extra accommodation.

If used as a second bedroom, this versatile lounge turns Kimberley into a four-person home. A partial protection wall adds privacy to this lounge that can double as a bedroom. The raised platform is another versatile feature that offers additional storage space for the kitchen. While the kitchen itself is actually quite small, this additional storage makes it feel bigger.

With all the windows and doors open, this becomes the perfect summer kitchen, part of a home designed to function as an indoor/outdoor living space. With no formal boundaries between the two and with the exterior deck acting as an extension of the interior, Kimberley is the perfect home for nature lovers.

By keeping the kitchen compact, this design frees up more space for a comfortable dining area. Versatility and functionality take center stage. Instead of a traditional setup, you'll see a tiny wooden table with matching stools, all foldable. Once mealtime is over, everything gets folded away neatly, leaving that entire part of the house uncluttered and free for other activities.

A simple barn door separates the bathroom from the rest of the house. The full-size shower is one of the standard features of all the Alphaline mobile homes. The toilet can be standard or eco-friendly. A spacious vanity, LED lighting, and a big mirror are some of the modern features included.

For extra comfort, the builder chose to add a staircase with integrated storage instead of a simple ladder. This way, owners can enjoy extra storage space for larger items and appliances. The loft itself isn't very big. It can fit a queen-size mattress and minimal furniture. A simple railing adds protection, and a medium-sized window keeps the bedroom airy and luminous.

Since Alphaline is big on customization, pricing varies greatly. But a standard version of the Kimberley would start somewhere around AUD 89,000 ($57,200). This spacious and modernly configured tiny can also be equipped for off-grid living and would make a perfect vacation rental in a natural setting.
