Golden 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper to Go Under the Hammer for Charity

“Charity begins at home”, an old English proverb says. To make their 50th anniversary even more memorable, Hurst Performance vehicles did not only build a limited edition series Hurst/Viper but will also auction the vehicle that marks its 50th year of building specialty.

The car, called the 50th Anniversary Hurst/Viper, features flat gold paint with gloss black stripes and  black chrome Hurst wheels and detailing. It will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction on January 17th, 2009 and the proceeds will be donated to Victory Junction, a year-round camping facility for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses.

To make the auction even more enticing, the Hurst/Viper vehicles feature the new Hurst HARD-DRIVE gold anodized pistol-grip shifter,  Hurst 19" and 20" polished aluminum wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, Corsa exhaust and Moton Club Sport adjustable coil-over suspension with Eibach springs. The price might go rather high as the interior has a special Katzkin charcoal leather with Hurst embroidered logos, gold thread detailing and perforated leather inserts.

Hurst Performance was founded in 1958 and ever since the company logo has been associated with speed, performance and quality. Now that they will be 50 year old, we think it's a nice gesture to donate the money from the auctioned Hurst/Viper to those who need it the mosmost need them.

As we already told you in a previous news, nothing is known about the price of the 50-unit Hurst/Viper limited edition models.
