Nicolas Cage Auctions His 1970 Hemi 'Cuda

Since all good things come to an end, Nicholas Cage is officially separating from his long-term driving partner, the 1970 Hemi 'Cuda Hardtop.

And because such a painful divorce should be done at the highest price possible, Cage is going to give his beloved car to the buyer who offers the most at Russo And Steele’s auction later this month in Scottsdale, Arizona, TopSpeed reported.

The car came from the factory in Triple Black package, meaning black velvet paint, black interior and black vinyl top. In September 2005, it was inspected by renowned expert Galen Govier and was certified as “100% numbers-matching throughout”.

If you're in doubt whether the car would drive just as well as it looks, you have to know that some modifications were done to Cage's vehicle: the engine and transmission have been completely rebuilt and after finishing the restoration, the engine was broken-in and tuned on a dyno.

The vehicle options include 4-speed manual transmission (1 of 284 installed that year), Rallye wheels, rim-blow steering wheel, Super Trak-Pak, Argent Shaker, space saver tire and Rallye instrument cluster.

And we're not quite through with the car's options as the company that organizes the auction promises a 100%-correct car “with all the factory markings and dated components just as when it left the production line in November, 1969”, including its original 426ci Hemi engine.

The documentation of the vehicles also includes the window sticker, owners manual, owners history and all receipts. Moreover, Cage's car is in the Chrysler registry as number 128 of the 284 1970 Hemi 'Cuda's built with a 4-speed transmission.

Only good things about this particular set of wheels, but our only comment is that such a divorce couldn't happen without a reason...
