With less than a month until the launch of the slightly-underwhelming front-wheel drive Cadillac XTS, reports have surfaced that GM is actually working on a rear-wheel drive platform called ‘Omega’, which will be used to underpin a future flagship model - a luxury car, something Cadillac should be very good at.
According to GMI, GM have started to establish the parts supply chains for the new Omega platform, however, this doesn’t guarantee the model will actually be built, more of a hint towards a positive answer to the question ‘is it getting built?’ than a definite answer. With the parts supply up and running, Cadillac will be one step closer to making the first proper new car for some time.

As we had previously reported, the new flagship has been under consideration for some time now and things are still uncertain regarding its future. We do know one thing, though, we want it to get built as it has the potential of being awesome, like the Sixteen!
