Giugiaro GO! at the Geneva Auto Show

The first concepts created by Italdesign Giugiaro for the new owner company Volkswagen are ready to meet the journalists, and soon the visitors, at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The first of them, the GO!, comes in the form of an MPV. Equipped with VW's Blue-e-motion system, the model is an electric vehicle capable of achieving a range of 240 km and has been designed with city motoring in mind. The battery pack of the car is located underneath the front and rear seats, giving the model a weight distribution of 58 percent on the front and 42 percent on the rear. The GO! has the same wheelbase as the Passat, 2,700 mm, using a hatchback design, the GO! Promises to allow the passengers about the same amount of space as in an SUV, only in a smaller exterior package. The GO! is not the single model presented by the design company at the Geneva event for the VW group. The second model, the Tex, is a plug-in hybrid coupe. "Go! is an MPV that continues that subject owing to its improved ergonomics and passenger room while keeping the smaller exterior size that has distinguished a large part of my career. It is a vehicle that is no more than 4 metres long, is eco-friendly, and is able to guarantee the utmost in terms of ergonomics and luxury, with an abundant loading volume,” said Giorgetto Giugiaro. autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
