The all-new Geely Galaxy E8 electric sedan will officially start pre-sales at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show. The model looks ready to make both the Mercedes EQS and Tesla Model S jealous.
The Geely Galaxy E8 sedan is underpinned by the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform and will slot in the medium-to-large sedan segment. It measures 197.2 inches (5,010 millimeters) in length, 75.6 inches (1,920 millimeters) in width, and 57.7 inches (1,465 millimeters) in height, sporting a wheelbase of 115.2 inches (2,925 millimeters).

Those figures place the Chinese model below the German Mercedes EQS, which sits at 126.4 inches (5,216 millimeters) in length, 75.8 inches (1,926 millimeters) in width, and 59.5 inches (1,512 millimeters) in height, with a wheelbase of 126.4 inches (3,210 millimeters).

Meanwhile, the Tesla Model S
is 195.9 inches (4,980 millimeters) long, 77.3 inches (1,964 millimeters) wide, and 56.5 inches (1,440 millimeters) tall, with a 116.5-inch (2,960-millimeter) wheelbase.

But the Geely Galaxy E8 EV is more aerodynamic than the EQS and the Model S, featuring a drag coefficient of only 0.199 (0.200 for the EQS and 0.208 for the Model S).

The Chinese carmaker is quite generous in terms of body paint options. Customers can choose head-turning colors such as pink, yellow, or red, or the more conventional silver, white, and gray. The front fascia integrates the split LED headlights with 158 light-emitting diodes. At the opposite end, the taillights are made up of many small LED units.

There is a two-spike flat-bottom steering wheel in the cabin. A huge screen of 45 inches with an 8K resolution, stretching from one front pillar to another, and a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip are in there as well. The anti-fingerprint, anti-glare, dustproof, and waterproof screen integrates the instrument cluster, central touchscreen, and co-pilot entertainment screen, covering an area of 1,130 mm x 138 mm. A panoramic sunroof and 256-color ambient lighting are also on board.

Three variants will be present in the lineup. The entry-level variant is the one powered by a single motor and sporting rear-wheel drive and a standard range. The motor delivers 272 horsepower, while a 62 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides it with a range of 550 kilometers (342 miles).

The long-range version comes with the same output, but a larger battery with a capacity of 76 kWh for a range of 665 kilometers (413 miles).

The top-of-the-line is the dual-motor four-wheel drive version, which gets 421 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 76-kWh battery brings 665 kilometers (413 miles) of range. Sporting the 800V platform, the car can recharge enough for 180 kilometers (112 miles) in just 5 minutes.

As reported by Car News China, The model will start pre-sales this month, will enter production in the first quarter of 2024, and deliveries are set to start in the second quarter.
