Big, luxurious, good-looking, reliable and now with available hybrid powertrain, meet the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid model.
Recently redesigned, having a stylish body and new features, the Avalon can now be had with a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, making it the best Avalon so far and was enlisted by Consumer Reports as a recommended buy.
Edge on the Net have recently tested the 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid XLE Touring version which has a price tag of $39,643 and includes options like remote engine starter ($499), Blizzard Pearl exterior finish ($395), paint protection film ($395), carpeted floor mats ($225) and rear bumper applique ($69). Power comes from a 2.5-liter VVT-i engine coupled to a 105 kW two-electric-motor system.
The reviewers found it very quiet, smooth and spacious, with the passengers not knowing to tell when the power is provided by the gasoline engine alone, electric or combined. Also, the vehicle’s increased price over the competition gets justified by much more luxury features offered as standard.
