The 2025 Ford Explorer was just refreshed with new looks, additional tech goodies, plus more goodies. Now, its premium Ford CD6 platform sibling, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator, follows suit - albeit with a little more panache and a much higher MSRP.
The facelifted 2025 Ford Explorer starts from $39,625 (excluding destination and other charges) in Active guise, followed by the ST-Line at a little more than $44k, Platinum from $51,525, and the mighty ST kicking off at an MSRP of $55,205. Meanwhile, the 2024 Lincoln Aviator, without the fresh tweaks, starts from $53,340 and jumps to $59k for the Reserve and over $79k for Black Label models.

Alas, since the Explorer is cooler, the Aviator couldn't take a step back and wait a while – Lincoln has quickly announced the refreshed 2025 model year, too. It comes with elegance and loads of tech, and it strives to combine an "elevated design" with new connected experiences like the all-new Lincoln Digital Experience and BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, which are both available for the first time on the Aviator series.

As per tradition with any facelift, the most significant changes come at the front, where Lincoln has thoroughly expanded the size of the radiator grille, repositioned the LED DRLs, new LED headlights, and an Illumination Package, which is standard on Reserve and Black Label models bringing "an illuminated Lincoln star on the grille, adaptive pixel LED headlamps, speed-dependent lighting, adaptive bending lighting, and Lincoln dynamic signature lighting with LED daytime running lamps."

There are also two new exterior shades for Black Label - Cenote Green and Whisper Blue Metallic – plus an all-new Jet Package, available on all grades, with distinct 21-inch for Premiere and 22-inch models on Reserve and Black Label. There's an optional Lincoln Black Label Special Edition package with a two-tone appearance, and the Reserve trim gets four new interior color choices: Onyx, Light Space Gray, Harvest Bronze with Onyx accents, and Hot Chocolate with Onyx details.

Additionally, the cockpit now features larger displays – a bigger 13.2-inch central touchscreen and a new 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster controlled by the all-new Lincoln Digital Experience packing Google, Amazon, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto services. The LDE offers plenty of customization with apps from Google Play like Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeartRadio, among others. The listening experience, which includes the embedded SiriusXM with 360L, reaches a pinnacle with the optional Revel Ultima 3D Audio System packing 28 speakers.

Last but not least, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator has optional 30-way Perfect Position Front Seats and standard BlueCruise assistance "with four years of hands-free highway driving at vehicle purchase." However, it also incurs a premium compared to the outgoing model – deliveries begin during the summer, but ordering is already open, and MSRPs kick off at $58,495, more than $5k higher than 2024MY. Also, the Reserve is $67,495, and the Black Label is no less than $87k!
