Four-Cylinder Ford Mustang Coming to US After All

Two days ago we were telling you about the four-cylinder-engined Ford Mustang being introduced for European versions of the car exclusively.
Well, it seems that Edmunds' report was wrong, and the pony will get the 2.3-liter EcoBoost in the US as well. At least that's what Road & Track claims, adding that the little turbo is likely to come with over 300 HP in order to top the 3.7-liter V6 unit.

This means that, contrary to what we might have expected, the four-cylinder powerplant won't be offered as a base model engine, leaving the 305 HP V6 at the bottom of the 2015 Mustang range.

As we already know, the turbocharged 2.3-liter engine will be based on the 2.0-liter EcoBoost unit found under the 2013 Ford Focus ST's bonnet, which means we're about to get the best Mustang ever in terms of fuel-economy and CO2 emissions.

The redesigned sixth-generation Ford Mustang is set to hit American and European dealerships in 2015.
