The 2015 Ford F-150 will be equipped with no less than eleven class-exclusive features, ranging from safety and technology features to other convenience attributes.
When it goes on sale later this year, the redesigned F-150 will greet its customers with 360-degree camera view, a technology that will use exterior cameras to help the driver park and maneuver the truck in tight spots.
LED headlamps and taillights will also be offered on the 2015 F-150, as well integrated loading lamps, a fancy but cool remote tailgate, high-wattage power outlets for the cab, LED spotlights on the side mirrors and a brand new step fully integrated inside the tailgate.
Ford is also introducing Trailer Hitch Assist, a rear view camera feature developed to help drivers line up the truck to a trailer without having to get out of the vehicle, as well as a Smart Trailer Tow Module - “an all-new smart trailer tow wiring harness that helps identify and inform the driver of potential trailer connectivity issues, burned or unlit trailer marker lamps, and brake light and trailer battery faults”.
Other features that are supposed to make the new F-150 more smarter include a new 8-inch LCD “productivity screen”, LED lighting embedded in the walls of the cargo box, rear under-seat storage and boxside step. More details on these brand new features are available in the video and press release below.
