Unlike General Motors and Toyota, the Ford Motor Company only has one passenger car nameplate left in the North American family – the S650 seventh generation 2024 Ford Mustang.
Naturally, that reflects on the sales – FoMoCo wrapped 2023 with almost 2 million deliveries compared to over 2.24 million for the Japanese automaker and no less than 2.6 million for GM! Some would say it's a pretty decent performance, given that they only sell crossovers and SUVs aside from Mustangs, right? Others would point out that even GM had a more fleshed-out passenger car roster, whereas Toyota rocks the Prius, Corolla, Camry, Mirai, Crown, and Sienna nameplates, plus the GR86, GR Corolla, and GR Supra sports cars.

So, if the Blue Oval wanted some additional leeway to try and catch Toyota for the silver medal in 2024, maybe bringing a traditional sedan into the mix would suffice. The company gave up on traditional passenger cars a bit early; some would say – and a few might even take matters into their own hands to resolve the issue. Or rather, at the tip of their CGI brushes, as is the case here with the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

For example, Jim, the virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, loves messing around with all things CGI from GM and Ford, hence this local Taurus SHO revival. More precisely, the pixel master loves old-school models from America – he's the proud owner of a 1986 Buick Regal T-Type and a 2001 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, so that's really no surprise. As such, he dabbles with many vehicles from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s – and only sometimes plays with contemporary figures.

For example, recently, he brought back the Regal T-Type with styling reminiscent of the 1980s but adorned with modern DNA. In another instance, he played with the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser to make it a three-door FJ40 heir and also did a two-door Nissan Pathfinder based on the newly introduced Nissan Frontier Hardbody. That's pretty cool, right?

Now, to try and top all that, the CGI expert also brought back to America's imagination land the popular Ford Taurus. While the nameplate is dead in the United States, it currently lives on in markets belonging to the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), where the eight-gen Taurus is based on the fifth-generation Ford Mondeo produced in China through its joint venture Changan Ford.

While the current Ford Taurus has a convoluted existence, the author didn't bring it back as a simpleton and instead worked out something that could easily battle the 2025 Toyota Camry mid-size sedan and combat its exclusive hybrid powertrain with some fresh sportiness – Taurus SHO. Of course, the fans were ecstatic and immediately proposed fitting it with the twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 or maybe even the beloved 5.0-liter Coyote V8.
