Ford's Aligned Business Framework Welcomes Takata Corporation

Ford Motor Company elected Takata Corporation to join its Aligned Business Framework (ABF) for closer collaboration and a long-term relationship.

Ford plans to use Takata’s vast global experience in developing vehicle safety systems and integrate the company in its global common sourcing project, which is integrated in the ONE Ford Transformation. Takata will provide Ford vehicles safety systems through a cost- and time-efficient process, which will allow the automotive producer to increase its efficiency.

"We are extremely proud to be included by Ford as part of its ABF supplier structure for the future, and believe our commitments to safety innovations, quality and the highest level of customer service make this a natural fit for both companies," said Robert Fisher, executive vice president of Takata's North American operations (TK Holdings Inc.), headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

"Our stellar relationship with Ford goes back a long way, and with both companies headquartered here in southeast Michigan, it gives us added synergies and strengthens our partnership for the automotive industry of tomorrow, including many benefits to the state of Michigan," Fisher added.  "We see both companies and the state all working even more closely together in the years ahead to keep this region the world capital of the automotive industry."

TK Holdings, which employs over 400 people, is a subsidiary of Takata Corporation, the largest seatbelts producer in the world. Takata has a global annual output of over 70 million seatbelt assemblies, with the company’s technologies being focused on safety restraint systems and related components, safety electronics, interior trim and related products.
