The moment you put a license plate that reads 'WILL RUN' on your Ford Mustang, you will be a target for the police patrols. And they will be right to keep an eye on you. This Mustang driver tried to flee but crashed into an SUV and ended up in jail. He was reportedly involved in such police chases several times this month. Now he WILL RUN no more.
So many Mustangs are involved in crashes out there that we should just come up with a standard text, and it would always read like this: Ford Mustang driver pressed the throttle too hard, lost control, and ended up in a pole. Or a guardrail. Or crashed into another car. Or something similar. Just the time and the place would change in such a piece.

But this story is different. Over the weekend, a California Highway Patrol unit initiated an enforcement stop on a black Mustang caught speeding in Rohnert Park. The driver did not stop when the police tried to pull him over and just kept on driving northbound US-101 at speeds exceeding 100 mph (160 kph).

A Sonoma Sheriff helicopter Henry-1 went overhead to back up the ground unit. Still the Mustang driver kept driving like there was no tomorrow. Eventually, when trying to overtake an SUV using the center median at Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa, the Mustang crashed into the other car.

Two adults and one child that traveled in the SUV were transported to hospital with suspected minor to moderate injuries. There are no photos of the other car involved in the crash, but hopefully it looks better than the Mustang, which will most likely end up in a scrap yard. The hood, front and rear fender plus doors on the right side are a mess.

The windshield is smashed to pieces and, while the police does not mention any rollover, the roof of the car is also deformed. The rear end looks just as bad, with the rear window simply dissolved in the crash.

A driver traveling in the first lane caught the last part of the chase and the crash on camera. The Mustang is seen moving at very high speed, clipping the concrete barrier, and slamming into an SUV that was traveling at a way lower speed in front of it. The driver that filmed everything pulled over to avoid hazard. Debris from the car flies all around with smoke and dust rising over the highway. The police ground units and the helicopter immediately arrive at the crash scene.

He Mustang driver has reportedly escaped police chases several times this month, but this was the end of it. Authorities placed the 18-year old Mustang driver under arrest. He was booked in the Sonoma County Jail on multiple felony charges.
