Ford has released a new video as part of its “Mustang Countdown” online series that previews the pony’s 50th anniversary, which is scheduled on April 17, 2014. After putting the spotlight on Parnelli Jones and his racing Boss 302, Ford paid a visit to the guys over at Pure Vision, none others than the creators of the Martini-liveried Stang we showed you about three months ago.
Created for the 2012 SEMA Show, the Martini Racing Mustang was “patterned after rally cars of the era” and fitted with several Shelby GT350 parts and a Ford 4-cam Indycar V8 engine detuned to deliver 426 horsepower and 362 lb-ft of torque. Other features include a Shelby R-styler roll bar, blue leather sports seats, bespoke aluminum gauge panel, Shelby Cobra pedals and a C&R Performance four-speed transmission.
Needless to say, the Martini Mustang looks great, sounds awesome and makes a perfect vehicle for Ford’s “Mustang Countdown”. Scroll below to watch the video and stick around, there’s more where that came from.
