Ford Mustang Bulks Up for SEMA

An auto show renowned for the extraordinary vehicles and equipment it hosts would be nothing without pony cars, that class of vehicles which since the 1960s have dominated the tuning and aftermarket worlds.

And when you say pony, your mind automatically wanders off to the Mustang. A model without which the Specialty Equipment Market Association would be devoid of one of its iconic elements. Not to worry though. Ford is bringing the Mustang to Las Vegas, in no less than nine different interpretations. They are all listed below:

Team Baurtwell Mustang – with a touch of Funkmaster Flex (the customizer of this Mustang) and a taste of Snoop Dog (the man for which the car was created), the Baurtwell version of the Mustang brings custom smoked taillights, a 3dCarbon body kit, Steeda lowering kit, sway bars and springs, and Baer brakes.

MRT Mustang – vased on a Mustang GT, the MRT version is filled with carbon elements. Aside from this fancy feature, the car has unspecified chassis upgrades and a performance handling package.

Creations n’ Chrome Mustang – a pony with a mission, the pink Mustang wants to fight breast cancer. It does so using a Vortech supercharger, HRE performance wheels and Wilwood brakes.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Mustang – this version of the Mustang is the perfect embodiment of its name, as it wears a Ford Racing Performance Parts supercharger kit on its engine.

Mobsteel Mustang – perhaps the meanest looking Mustang at SEMA, the Mobsteel offers STS turbo patented remote mount turbo system, Air Runner suspension and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust.

Raceskinz Mustang – the car is heavily modified on the interior, but also comes with some performance tweaks, including a ProCharger intercooled supercharger, Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and Baer brake system.

Street Scene Equipment Mustang – not much has changed in terms of performances with this model, but both the exterior and interior have been tweaked to extremes.

Tjin Edition Mustang – the Tjin version of the Mustang is a modified pony, wearing modified suspension and a a custom DuPont paint job.

Last, but not least, Ford itself (or its division by Ford Vehicle Personalization) prepared a special version of the Mustang, embodied by the Mustang GT.

“SEMA is a great way for Ford to not only show customers what’s new for Mustang, but what they can do to make it their own Mustang,” said Jim Owens, Mustang brand manager.
