You surely remember Ford's one-of-a-kind Mustang created to celebrate the Apollo Missions, so maybe you are interested to see how it performed during the auction it was involved in.
Long story short, the Ford Mustang Apollo Edition raised $230,000 at the Gathering of Eagles charity event last week. Moreover, 100% of proceeds will be redirected towards EAA youth aviation education programs, including Young Eagles.

In case it doesn't ring a bell, Young Eagles is a large community of passionate aviation enthusiasts that promotes and supports recreational flying.

Just to give an idea of its influence, we'll tell you that up until this point, the organization has provided free introductory flights to more than 1.9 million young people since 1992, helping to grow the next generation of aviators.

Coming back to the stunning one-off Mustang, we'll tell you that it started as a standard 2015 Mustang GT fastback but what you see is the result of many hours of work and plenty of new body parts, like a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, rocker moldings and accent treatments – along with LED underbody lighting to evoke atmospheric re-entry.

The performance department was also reevaluated through a Ford Performance supercharger, X-pipe with side and rear exhaust, sport-tuned suspension, six-piston Brembo brakes and custom Forgiato 21-inch rims.

The final result is a unique 627 horsepower and 540 lb-ft (732 Nm) of torque Ford Mustang that could take off if someone attached a pair or wings to its body kit.

It also served a good cause, which makes it a noble piece of tuning.
