While General Motors is still haunted by the disaster known as the ignition switch fiasco, Ford continues to issue safety recalls every Wednesday or so. This time around, the U.S. carmaker is dealing with two safety recalls and one safety compliance recall.
The first operation sees approximately 88,151 vehicles from the 2013 to 2015 model years being called back over the fuel pump control module. All vehicles are equipped with the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and, according to Ford, the fuel pump control module fault could stall the engine “without warning while driving and without the ability to restart, increasing the risk of a crash.”

If you own a 2013 to 2015 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, Lincoln MKT, or Ford Police Interceptor Sedan with the 3.5-liter V6, then do call your nearest dealership as soon as possible. In the case of the second safety recall, Ford tells that 2015-2016 Ford Transit vans need new fuel injection pumps.

2,472 vehicles equipped with the 3.2-liter turbo diesel engine are being called back to be fixed. In the case of a malfunction with the pumps, the Ford Transit could refuse to restart back into life, thus giving the owner a bit of a headache. Happily, however, the Ford Motor Company isn’t aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the issues presented.

And last, but not least, the 2017 Ford Escape is being recalled over a compliance issue. The automaker highlights that “the power window system configuration may exceed the regulatory requirement for remote actuation closing force, increasing the risk of injury.” An estimated 23,150 vehicles are potentially affected by the too-powerful power windows. Affected owners are urged by the manufacturer to come in for a no-cost software update.

Here's a top tip: the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Search for Recalls by VIN feature is your best friend in this situation.
