Ford couldn't let the past weekend's 2016 Pebble Beach hostilities pass without bringing the almost-ready 2017 GT under the spotlights, so the carmaker brought a '66 Heritage Edition to the high-octane party.
The speed demon can be seen in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, but this is much more than a look-at-that-fuselage-like-body video. Instead, we get to see some respectable revving, which only comes to show how hard Ford Performance engineers have worked to make the minus-two-cylinders heart of the supercar sound like it's ready to take over the world.

Then again, the twin-turbo V6 Ecoboost isn't the only star here, as we must also mention the details of the '66 Heritage edition.

It's not like the new Ford GT, which is coming in 500 units over the first two years (Ford will bring extra cars later on), needed such an edition to boost its exclusivity. Instead, the retro theme is here to celebrate that day in 1966 when Ford schooled Ferrari at Le Mans with the help of a 1-2-3 victory.

The hue you see here is called Shadow Black and while it can also be ordered in a Matter finish, we're dealing with the Glossy touch. The Frozen White #2 racing livery nod graphics on the hood and doors are a stong connection to the motorsport world and we mustn't forget the unique 20-inch wheels. Heck, if you pay closer attention to this overly limited edition, you'll also notice not-so-retro bits, such as exposed carbon fiber goodies.

As for the cabin details, the ebony leather adorning the various parts of the interior gets Ford GT logos on the steering wheel and seats. Various gold trim pieces are mixed with a numbered commemorative plaque, while bare carbon once again shows up.

P.S.: Alcohol isn't exactly missing from festivities such as the one that took place at Pebble Beach and we suppose this is the reason for which the blonde woman in the clip keeps trying to interrupt the action.
