With nearly 2.5 million vehicles delivered in 2013, Ford remained America’s best-selling brand for the fourth consecutive year, we reported earlier this month. Now we’re back to tell you that the Blue Oval was also the country’s best-perceived auto brand last year, being ranked second in the BrandIndex US Top Buzz for 2013.
The Detroit-based manufacturer was surpassed by online retailer Amazon, but scored more points than Subway, History and Lowe’s, the other brands that made the Top 5. No other automobile company made the Top 25, but the final position belongs to John Deere, one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery in the world.
The brand included in the 2013 US Top Buzz were rated using YouGov BrandIndex’s Buzz score which asks respondents, "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?”.
