Ford Fiesta Sport Edition Presented in Europe

We all knew that Fiesta is playing a key role in Ford's global evolution but the company is every once in a while emphasizing this fact with new things that bring this particular model back in the spotlights. This is what happened yesterday when the European division of the American company presented new Ford Fiesta Sport Edition, a new trim level of the popular car that brings several sporty upgrades in all kind of areas, including engineering, aesthetics and interior.

First of all, the Sport Edition will be offered with the three-door configuration featuring 96HP 1.4-liter and 120HP 1.6-liter gasoline engines or 90HP 1.6-liter TDCi turbo diesel.

The first things you'll notice when looking at the car are the revised grille, the darkened headlamps, the 16-inch alloy wheels with sport tires and the sporty side skirts. The rear apron now boast an integrated diffuser for improved aerodynamics, according to Carscoop.

The sporty line continues inside the car, with two trim colors offered to interested buyers - anthracite or blue - plus a couple of new things, such as front sport seats, electric windows and locks, air conditioning, leather sport steering wheel and stick shift.

Ford has also applied numerous other engineering modifications, including nine millimeter lowered sports suspension with new shocks as well as an upgraded steering wheel system. All vehicles are equipped with ESP that can be switched on whenever the driver wants to.

There are no pricing details available for the time being but, taking into account all the aforementioned upgrades, expect an at least 1,000 euro pricing increase over the standard Fiesta which is currently available across most European markets.
