Ford Fiesta Metal Special Edition On Sale in Britain

The Ford Fiesta range has been enhanced in Britain with the arrival of the Metal special edition that sales for £15,695 and is powered by the most sporty diesel engine available until the ST arrives on the scene.
Only 1000 examples will be produced, all with the 134 horsepower 1.6-liter Duratec Ti-VCT petrol engine that can propel the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.7 seconds.

"This Ford Fiesta special edition gives the customer great exterior styling with an enhanced performance engine. Customers love that we create Fiestas with special features that prove to be real head-turners,” says Anthony Ireson, Ford of Britain's marketing director.

The chassis is based on the Fiesta Zetec-S, and the extensive features list includes chrome twin exhaust pipes, silver-painted front grille surround, front aerofoil and front fog light bezels, Piano Black painted center stack bezel, air vent rings and door pulls, Ebony Black leather sports seats with silver contrast stitching, unique floor mats with silver piping, stainless steel door scuff plates with Fiesta logo, 17" Black alloy wheels and sports tuning with lowered ride height.

Standard equipment for this £15,695 includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Home Safe headlights, Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Intelligent Protection System (IPS), front, side and knee airbags and anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).

The car is available in Panther Black, Midnight Sky and Frozen White. We think it looks really good, and the interior reminds us of the full-leather 2006 ST, but the price is worryingly high, even for such a well equipped little car.
