Word has it the redesigned Ford F-150 pickup truck will get a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine to become the second full-size truck to offer an oil burner after the 2014 Ram 1500.
However, the new mill, which is codenamed “Lion”, won’t arrive until 2018 when the brand new aluminum F-150 will receive its mid-cycle refresh, The Truth About Cars reports. The same update will also see the introduction of a new ten-speed automatic transmission, the source revealed.
As a reminder, the 2015 Ford F-150 was unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. The truck features an aluminum body that makes it 700 pounds lighter than the model it replaces and will go on sale later this year with a brand new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
