Ford F-150 Hits Media Channels This Weekend

American manufacturer Ford is getting ready to roll out a comprehensive marketing campaign for the new F-150 line, with the new ads to focus on the vehicle's four new engines. The campaign kicks off on November 6 and will be visible through TV, print and online channels.

Aside for the materials and videos which will promote the new line of truck in their integrity, the carmaker will launch a separate online campaign meant to promote the EcoBoost engine chosen to power one of the models. Dubbed Torture Test, the series of documentaries can be viewed by following this link.

“The 2011 Ford F-150 is the ‘truck of the future’ with four new powertrains – each delivering an unmatched combination of power, performance and fuel economy – and we have a breakthrough marketing campaign that continues to resonate with truck buyers and separates us from the competition,” said Doug Scott, Ford Truck Group Marketing manager.

The EcoBoost engine, the first step towards the introduction of this type of powerplants on pretty much all Ford models, is a 3.5l twin-turbocharged unit which develops 365 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm.

Aside for the EcoBoost, the new line of trucks is powered by a 3.7l V6 (300 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm), a 5.0l V8 (360 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 380 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,250 rpm) and a 6.2l V8 (411 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 434 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm).

“Our new engine lineup allows greater flexibility for customers to select the powertrain choice that best suits their needs,” said Barb Samardzich, Ford vice president of Powertrain Engineering.

“We are in the midst of a powertrain revolution, with 30 new powertrains over the next two years, and our loyal F-150 customers are the next ones to benefit.”
