Without the blessing of the Ford Motor Company, the F-150 Harley-Davidson will soon be back in the game thanks to the combined efforts of the motorcycle manufacturer and Tuscany Motor Co. Inspired by the Fat Boy motorcycle, the special edition can’t be had on the Super Duty lineup.
The half-ton F-Series will have to make do, but then again, just look at it! Starting with the Fat Boy-style 22-inch aluminum wheels, the pickup truck features aluminum tips for the Flowmaster exhaust system, stainless steel gauges, billet racing pedals, 35-inch all-terrain tired, and customer fender flares.
Exclusivity is ensured by the serialized badge on the center console, and off the beaten path, the BDS lift kit with Fox shock absorbers help the special-edition workhorse do its thing. The Harley-Davidson theme continues with the bed rug, floor mats, entry sills, front bumper bar, and underbody shield.
As for creature comforts, this fellow is more luxurious than your average F-150. Diamond stitching for the two-tone leather upholstery, power running boards with unique rocker trim, these are all standard. The list of no-cost equipment continues with the locking tonneau cover, tailgate applique, custom accents on the door panels, dashboard, and steering wheel, and so forth.
“Harley-Davidson is one of the most iconic brands in the world,” declared Jeff Burttschell, vice president of Tuscany Motor Co. “The new truck was designed to evoke the same sense of power and freedom as the Harley-Davidson motorcycles that inspired it.”
Unveiled at the Harley-Davidson 115th Anniversary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the F-150 Harley-Davidson doesn’t have a starting price for the time being. Considering that the Ford-endorsed special edition was phased out for the 2012 model year, the Tuscany-developed package won’t come cheap. Speaking of the original, the SuperCrew with the 6.2-liter V8 used to retail at $53,300.
The most no-frills F-150 available right now is the XL, which starts at $27,705. The Limited, on the other hand, starts at a mind-boggling $61,360.
