Previously offered in the F-150 and Super Duty, the Baja Off-Road Package from Long McArthur is now available in the Ranger mid-size pickup truck. Obviously enough from the package’s name, look forward to a 2.0-inch lift kit for the front suspension from Pro-Comp and a Fox 2.0 rear shock upgrade.
The Kansas-based dealership also switches the standard tires and wheels for Fuel Tactic 18s and Toyo 33s, an interesting combination that’s as off-road as it gets without compromising the on-road handling of the Ranger. Up front, the grille now features F O R D lettering in bold as a tribute to the F-150 Raptor.
For the wider wheels and tires, Long McArthur decided to go with a set of Bushwacker fender flares. The rack in the bed comes courtesy of Addictive Desert Design, the bed liner is a spray-in design from Rhino Pro, and the black-painted running boards are OEM just like the all-weather floor mats.
“Ranger Baja” side decals complement the black graphics on the tailgate, and an off-road kit from Ford Performance rounds off the list of goodies. These being said, care to guess how much Long McArthur wants for this package?
Try $10,000 in addition to the Ranger’s price. The dealer has two Ranger Baja models listed for sale at the time of writing, a white one and a blue one. The trucks retail at $41,995 and $42,590, respectively, and both feature the FX4 Off-Road Package with the electronic locking differential for the rear axle.
Regardless of cab or trim, the 2019 Ranger comes standard with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost, auto stop-start technology, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and lots of desirable equipment.
Even the XL SuperCab with the six-foot box and rear-wheel drive features automatic emergency braking and SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment with FordPass Connect and Wi-Fi hotspot for $24,300 excluding destination charge. At the other end of the spectrum, the Lariat comes with pretty much all the bells and whistles you’d want in a mid-size pickup truck.
