Ford Considering Fiesta RS

Ford has de-prioritized the next Focus RS due to the fact that the money and engineers are needed elsewhere. The Blue Oval has other plans for the C-segment car, and this shows in the mass-market results - the Focus is now the second best-selling car in the world.
But the fact of the matter is the green monster that was the limited production Focus RS still is a hugely impressive marketing tule. Now Autocar now speculates that instead of giving up on the ‘RS’ badge for now, Ford’s SVT division is thinking about a Fiesta RS.

Could this be a result of one fleeting company boss and the Polo R he’s currently working on. (we’re not mentioning mister Capito at all here)

The main reason why the Fiesta RS is a good idea is that with the S2000 car plastered on every hooning fan’s screensaver, the marketing opportunities are there for all to see.

But as with the Focus RS, the main goes of the Fiesta will be offering hugely impressive performance on a budget. Still, nothing in its class can go under six seconds so glory is there for the taking.
