For those geeky GT-86, BRZ or FR-S owners (and we don’t mean that in a bad way), Toyota and Subaru are working on a track telemetry system.
The system will work the old fashioned way, by placing a black box in the car and connecting it up. It will record everything you’d expect a black box to, from lap times to lateral G-force. While this may not be anything completely new, it gets more interesting, as the black box will be compatible with Sony’s PlayStation, and the car’s track data will be easily accessible.

It isn’t currently known when the system will debut on the car, but it will be easily retrofittable to any GT-86, BRZ or FR-S. One question, though. Will the system be compatible with normal computers, or will the owners be forced to buy a PS just to view their telemetry?
