It's difficult not to have a strong reaction when comparing the 1950s predictions for the 2000s, which involves lots and lots of flying cars, to the four-wheeled reality that continues to surround us. Then again, there are ways to escape the real world and fulfill the prophecy.
So while the few flying cars we do have around are extremely far from going mainstream, we can now enjoy things like the Internet and its love for renderings.

Well, the render that brought us here today portrays a Tesla Model S that can easily go airborne. No, there are no ramps included. Instead, we're looking at jet engines hidden in the wheels of the car, which allow for a the kind of vertical takeoff that will put on a stunt.

And given the creature that appears to summon the machine, the Blade Runner 2049 image seems to be complete (hit the "play" button below and you'll understand).

Now, Teslas might not be your thing. And, if you happen to not fancys EVs, but still that the render work we have here floats your boat (no pun intended), there's more.

Perhaps you might want to check out the second social media poste below. This brings a similar take (oh, if 1950s animators could only see these visual stunts), albeit one that drops the electric vehicle in favor of a Ferrari.

Alas, we don't get to listen to the wonderful naturally aspirated voice of this F12 Berlinetta's V12 heart, but hey, it's not everyday that you get to see a Flying Horse, so I won't complain. Oh, and by the way, if you curious how the actual F12 feels out there on the road, you might want to check out this review of the Italian automobile.

Then again, this isn't the first time when a digital artist decides to turn a showroom model into a flying car...
