The 2013 SRT Viper is more than suitable for becoming a collectible vehicle, so Chrysler recently placed the first production unit in the hands of the Barrett-Jackson’s auction house, with the proceeds from the sale set to be donated for charity.
The car, along with a SRT Track Experience and a ticker to this year’s Petit Le Mans, were all included in a package that went under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County auction. The vehicle accelerated past the quarter million dollars point swiftly, but it didn’t climb much higher from there, with the final bid sitting at $300,000 (EUR240,119 at the current exchange rate).

The money will be donated to the Austin Hatcher Foundation, which helps children and families deal with problems related to pediatric cancer. Even of you missed the auction, you can visit the foundation's website here and make a donation yourself.
