The Japanese automaker Toyota is preparing for two main automotive events this fall season - the inaugural edition of the Japan Mobility Show, formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show, and America's Los Angeles Auto Show, of course.
First, we will deal with the tidal wave of Lexus and Toyota novelties showcased in front of the audience at Tokyo Big Sight, where JMS will be graced with an entire family of conceptual EVs from the luxury brand and numerous ideas from Toyota's namesake brand. We already saw the IMV 0 concept pickup truck, the boxy and modular KAYOIBAKO van-like EV, as well as the FT-3e crossover SUV plus FT-Se sports car EV, but there's lots of space for "Stay tuned for more" at the moment of press!

Meanwhile, America is gearing up for the LA Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where there's lots of EV commotion, too. For example, Lucid Motors just teased the impending release of their 2024 Gravity SUV, but Toyota doesn't really care about its upcoming luxury feud with Tesla's Model X. Instead, either at home in Japan during JMS or – more likely – in America during the LA Auto Show, the company might grace us with the reveal of its second dedicated EV crossover SUV.

The conundrum about the reveal venue is easily explainable – we have seen the silhouette of the three-row electric crossover SUV plastered all over the LED wall earlier this August during the official introduction of the 2024 Land Cruiser at home in Tokyo City, Japan. However, we also know that Toyota will build for itself and Subaru a three-row electric SUV in the United States sometime next year or even in 2025.

Oh, well, maybe the production and unveiling location are unimportant. That's especially true when dealing with the imaginative realm of digital car content creators – where looks and not manufacturing venues are most important. So, here is the Halo oto channel on YouTube again providing fresh automotive info corroborated with their virtual designs, and now, there are some CGI ideas about this rumored Toyota EV.

Tentatively nicknamed 'bZ5X' to keep up with the idiotic OEM convention, the three-row crossover SUV feels decidedly modern and much less quirky than the real world's bZ4X in this unofficial vision. Naturally, since it's larger and has space for three rows of seats, we can also think of some competitors – including the rugged Rivian R1S and ritzy Tesla Model X or Mercedes EQB SUV, among others.

However, the best fit for a one-on-one skirmish is, of course, the recently introduced 2024 Kia EV9. So, which is your favorite, the hypothetical Toyota EV crossover SUV or one of the aforementioned CUVs that already exist in the real world?
