B is for Build isn’t your regular project car channel on YouTube. Chris and his friends decided to save a fire-damaged Lamborghini in grand fashion, morphing the V10-engined bull to a SEMA build with a six-speed manual instead of the standard seven-speed DCT.
That’s enough to make Lamborghini blush with admiration given that Sant’Agata Bolognese abandoned the three-pedal setup. The LS V8 swap, meanwhile, will make some jaws drop for polarizing reasons. Purists might be offended by the pushrod engine, but suck-squeeze-bang-blow enthusiasts will revel in the twin-turbo arrangement.
Garrett GTX3582R Gen II turbochargers complement the 430-cu.in. Texas Speed LS V8, a 7.0-liter behemoth capable of 1,500 horsepower at the wheels. The six-speed transmission, on the other hand, is the Graziano that Audi used to offer in the first-generation R8.
Khyzyl Saleem, one of our favorite pixel artists, is the man responsible for the exterior design of the car. Carbon-fiber body panels from the Super Trofeo are also included, and B is for Build is much obliged to showcase the car at the Garret – Advancing Motion booth on November 5th at the Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
In related news, this Huracan is one of 14,022 built at Sant’Agata Bolognese in merely five years since the first example of the breed rolled off the assembly line. That’s half the time Lamborghini needed to build 14,022 units of the Gallardo, making the Huracan the best-selling nameplate in the Italian automaker’s 56 years of existence. Given time, the Urus sports utility vehicle will eventually surpass the V10-engined supercar.
This year’s SEMA gears up with lots of independent and automaker-backed projects, including a Hyundai Veloster Turbo modified for all-terrain driving. Ford has a range of Rangers and Transits, and as ever, Mopar will be present with the Hellephant V8 crate engine.
The doors to the 2019 SEMA Show open on November 5th, and the exhibition continues through November 8th. Online registration was priced at $40 until October 11th, and after that date, the price per person increases to $90.
