Fiat is doing surprisingly well in the US, and the Americans really seem to have taken a liking to the Italian manufacturer’s little 500, which is now available both as a hardtop and convertible, as well as the more powerful turbocharged versions of either.
Dealerships have been springing up all across the US, and you can now buy a FIat in 44 of the 50 states. There are currently 187 dealerships on US soil, with the latest one to be opened being located in Columbus, Ohio. It is housed by a building which used to be and old and dilapidated garage, which has been fully-renovated and converted into a modern-looking dealership, in just five months.

With the lineup set to grow, with the addition of the 500L, demand for Fiats will also grow, as the 500L people carrier targets an entirely different type of buyer, and the number of dealerships will easily pass the 200-mark in 2013, and who knows, if they keep up the good sales, perhaps Fiat will bring even more models to the US, like the next generation Punto, which will be built alongside the new Mazda 2, in Italy.
