Ferrari Salutes the Birth of Felipe Massa's Child

The Ferrari F1 organization had plenty of work to do yesterday – with the whole rookie testing and everything – but they did manage to find some time and congratulate Felipe Massa for his best news this year: the birth of his first child.

According to the Ferrari official site, Massa's baby boy was born at 6:27 PM yesterday, and weighs 3.370 kg. Therefore the Ferrari mechanics and all the crew present at the Jerez track for the rookie test showed a little banner, welcoming the child into the world.

Finally Felipinho is here! Felipe and Raffaela Massa’s son was born yesterday late afternoon at 6:27pm local time at Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein hospital. The boy weighs 3.370 kg with a height of 49 centimetres: he and the mother are doing fine,” said the press release from Ferrari.

From Jerez, where the Scuderia is busy with the three test days with the young drivers, the team sent their congratulations for the newborn in the name of all Ferraristi,” added the statement.

Massa recently took part in a charity event at Florianopolis – a karting event which he himself organized in Brazil – in which several of his close friends in F1 and the IndyCar series also made the entry list. Michael Schumacher was also there, as the German actually won the event ahead of Massa.

The Brazilian wanted to stay in Brazil on purpose, as it was already projected that his wife Raffaela will have the baby in the upcoming few days (the karting event took place during the past weekend). Massa will resume his F1 action after the New Year, as he will spent some quality time with his enlarged family in the meantime.
